In late 2025, Moonbeam Multimedia facilitated a pilot workshop for the Hebron Business Group, bringing together ~30 local business owners and civic leaders. Using an Asset-Based Community Development framework, we centered our work on identifying and activating existing local strengths to meet the demands of rapid regional growth. Our approach employed an inquiry-based structure to approach questions of economic development, civic infrastructure, and community engagement. The conversation centered on three critical questions:
- What local resources can we demonstrate to ensure a new business succeeds in Hebron?
- How can we use our current assets to expand essential services for Hebron’s residents and businesses?
- How can we adapt our infrastructure to serve a growing, multi-generational population while maintaining our tight-knit community connections?
Findings: Interconnected Capital, Building Social Trust
The conversation was friendly and energetic, and the session revealed a deep reservoir of institutional and social capital across a range of local and regional assets. From specialized technical expertise to financial institutions to deep-rooted, generational networks and strong school communities, the data we gathered suggested a core competitive advantage for new enterprises: a high degree of interconnectedness, and a growing commitment to professional and social trust.
Surfacing Opportunity: Anchor Spaces, Childcare, & Housing Diversity
The workshop also surfaced critical needs driven by intensifying regional growth. Residents & business owners expressed a pressing need for “third places”— physical anchor spaces to promote associational life and civic connection. Priorities emerged around childcare accessibility, housing diversity, and the revitalization of Hebron’s walkable downtown corridor. Additionally, leaders recognized the opportunity to better align workforce development initiatives with local industry needs.

Post-Workshop Mobilization
The data collected during this pilot is currently being integrated into a resource mapping tool, and the work has already informed the development of a specialized business directory designed to showcase the region’s professional talent. Moonbeam Multimedia is now coordinating follow-up sessions with additional stakeholder groups to ensure the completed resource map reflects a comprehensive and equitable view of the region's capabilities.
The months following the workshop have been defined by decisive, community-led action, as Hebron's residents have utilized identified assets to drive measurable community progress. Notable achievements include the formation of a community improvement corporation, new downtown beautification programs, and expanded resources for small business growth. The community has also strengthened its connection between talent and enterprise through the launch of a business development & mentorship studio, the facilitation of local job fairs, and in offering a business “mastermind” series.
The progress in Hebron shows that when local assets are identified and intentionally aligned, growth becomes a manageable outcome of grassroots connection. The Moonbeam Multimedia team continues to evolve our technology and facilitation techniques to help communities uncover and activate the strengths they already possess.
